Rose ran unopposed for re-election in 2020.

In 2018, Rose was recommended favorably by Texans for Public Education, a grassroots educators' group that researched and rated candidates in the 2018 election based on their stances toward public schools.

Endorsed in the 2016 election by the editorial board of The Dallas Morning News.

Stated on her 2014 campaign website that she was in favor of stopping teacher layoffs and keeping class sizes small.
