Richard Pena Raymond

First elected to the Texas House in 1992 and served through 1998. Raymond ran unsuccessfully for statewide office in 1998. He was re-elected to the Texas House in 2000. Current term expires January 2027. Running for re-election; ran unopposed in the Democratic primary for Texas House District 42 and will be on the November 2026 general election ballot.

Raymond ran unopposed for re-election in 2020.

In the 2018 election, Raymond was recommended favorably by Texans for Public Education, a grassroots educators' group that researched and rated candidates in the 2018 election based on their stances toward public schools.
