Straus announces appointments to House committees, including Public Education

House Speaker Joe Straus (R-San Antonio) announced the composition of House committees for the 83rd Legislature earlier today. The 11 members of the House Public Education Committee are:

• Rep. John Davis
• Rep. Joe Deshotel
• Rep. Harold Dutton
• Rep. Mike Villarreal
• Rep. Marsha Farney
• Rep. Dan Huberty
• Rep. Ken King
• Rep. Bennett Ratliff
• Rep. Justin Rodriguez

Straus appointed Rep. Bill Callegari as the new chair of the House Pensions Committee and Rep. Harvey Hilderbran as chairman of the House Ways and Means Committee. Rep.
